‘Pretty Little Liars’ Time Jump: The 7 Most Shocking Changes
Pretty Little Liars is back, and everything is different!
The Season 6 winter premiere transformed Rosewood as we know it thanks to a five year time jump. While some of the characters ended up about where we'd expect — Mona and Spencer both landed high-powered DC jobs? Yep, sounds right — there were some changes we didn't see coming.
FEATURE: Who's the New Big Bad & 8 Other Burning PLL Questions
Here are the seven that most surprised us. Some are good surprises, some bad, and some just plain weird.
Radley got a makeover! Of all the surprises in the winter premiere, this was the biggest. Who knew the world's most out-dated creepy asylum could transform into such a swanky hotel? Ashley Marin really is a miracle worker.

Hanna's engaged to a new guy. We've known about this switch-up for a while thanks to spoilers, but we're still having a hard time wrapping our minds around it. We can barely process the Haleb breakup, but Hanna being engaged to someone else? We don't even want to think about it.

Ali's total transformation. Remember the frighteningly manipulative, overwhelming charming, always-bold teen we used to know? Now she appears to be the world's most boring, sanctimonious school marm. We're hoping the new attitude is just surface level and the old Ali is in there somewhere, but right now, we're not feeling this version of Rosewood's one-time "It" girl.
Ezra's gone off the deep end. Of all the things we thought might happen to Ezra in the time jump, his girlfriend being kidnapped by a bunch of South American revolutionaries was not on the list.
Emily's downward spiral. Emily has struggled in the past, but she seems to have gone off the total deep end. We're used to seeing this Liar pull herself out of her funks, but now she just seems trapped.
Veronica Hastings running for office. At first this career change seemed in line with the Hastings family's ambitious MO, but then we remembered all the skeletons in Mrs. Hastings closet. Like that time her one daughter confessed to murder on videotape, or her other daughter's multiple stints in Radley. Why risk having all that exposed in a campaign?
