American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy might be better known for making campy gore than lasting emotional moments, but the writer just got real about his Glee days.

Over three years after the death of Glee star Cory Monteith, Ryan is spilling on the heartbreaking final time he saw Finn Hudson’s portrayer.

During the summer of 2013, the late FOX hunk and girlfriend Lea Michele visited Ryan on the set of HBO’s The Normal Heart, which he directed.

“We hugged, and the last thing he said was ‘I love you, man, and thank you for helping me get better,’" the mega-producer — who helped get Cory to rehab — tells Entertainment Weekly.

“Then the next thing I knew he was dead. It was like losing a child,” the Scream Queens EP adds of the actor, who died of an overdose in July 2013.

The loss was especially hard on Ryan, as he had gotten extremely close to the entire Glee cast.

“We all got too personal,” the 50-year-old explains. “We loved it so much that we would all go out to dinner and we’d hang out and we were always together.”

Although that sounds sweet, the cast’s close-knit relationship wasn’t always a good thing.

“There was a lot of infighting. There was a lot of people sleeping together and breaking up,” he added.

“We were all so close that finally when something would happen, it would be so personal to me that I would literally hit the roof.”
