All that is about to change, though.

In 2015, the rapper made his feature film debut in the small role of De’Andre in Dope.

But now he’s ready to take center stage.

In May, casting calls announced MTV’s search for actors to fill five new roles in Season 3.

Two male leads and three female roles were up for grabs.

But not anymore…

Kylie Jenner’s former beau has scored the role of Jamal, per Variety.

Jamal is new main character Deion's fiercely loyal step-brother with a heart of gold.

The Notorious B.I.G.’s son will play good kid Amir, who is expected to live up to his strict parents’ high standards.

Season 2 became a critical success and garnered an impressive 83 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

But floundering ratings and a cast of up-and-comers with multiple side projects prompted MTV execs to start over entirely.

MTV kicked things off by bringing in a surprising new showrunner. Queen Latifah was tapped to produce the overhauled series.

We’re excited to see the results of these three legends working together.

Scream returns to MTV March 2018.
