The longtime actress has confirmed her role in the TV Land series based on her 1988 cult classic, despite her very public battle with breast cancer.

It’s doubtful the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum will pick back up her spot as second-in-command mean girl Heather Duke, as TV Land’s reboot is going in a whole new direction (and the original Heather violently died in Heathers).

This time the titular group of Heathers will look nothing like what we remember — and that couldn’t be better news.

The updated Heather Duke is now a male who identifies as genderqueer, while Heather McNamara is a black lesbian. Relative newcomers Brendan Scannell and Jasmine Mathews will fill the respective roles.

But don’t get used to these actors.

TV Land plans to make Heathers an anthology series, a la American Horror Story, meaning there will be a new group of Heathers every season.
