Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Joseph Morgan on the Vampirism Cure!

Even though Originals star Joseph Morgan (Klaus Mikaelson) may have his own spin-off show, that doesn’t mean he isn’t hip to what’s going on on The Vampire Diaries — especially when it involves the much-coveted cure to vampirism. Who does JoMo think should get the cure? Read on to find out!

“It would be interesting to see a human Damon [Ian Somerhalder]. Let’s see if he can still be sassy when he’s not immortal,” Joseph told TV Line, which is kind of an amazing answer. And maybe a little Klaus-like? Wouldn’t Joseph’s on-screen counterpart love to have a little less competition in the sassy vampire department?

But, ever the Mikaelson, Joseph also thought of his dear on-screen sister Rebekah (Claire Holt), who so wanted the cure for herself when it was floating around TVD Season 4. Joseph said that he would like for Rebekah (in her original body) to have the cure because “that’s what she’s always wanted.” Aww. Such a good brother!

We’re torn about who should get the cure. It comes with so many complications. If an oldie vampire takes it and then has it drained from his blood (like what happened with Katherine), then said vampire will quickly die of old age. And there’s no going back, either. Once a vampire is cured of vampirism, vampire blood has no effect on them — either for super fast healing or as a way to turn back into a vamp. It’s a one-way trip back to humanity, you know? Frankly, being a vampire within this fictional universe is pretty awesome. We’re not sure we’d want to go back to humanity after experiencing life as a super strong, super fast vampire with the ability to compel humans to do one’s bidding. Just saying.

Who do you think should get the cure to vampirism? What do you think of Joseph’s answers? Sound off in the comments below!

The Vampire Diaries airs Thursday nights and The Originals airs Monday nights both at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
