Couple Gets Engaged at ‘Supernatural’ SDCC Panel, Rock Star Joins Cast
If that surprise wasn’t enough, the cast and crew also announced their own jaw-dropper: real-life rock star Rick Springfield is heading to the CW horror drama for Season 12.
During the Q&A portion of the SDCC event, one fan took the microphone to pop the question.
"I loved you from the very first moment that I saw you," the unidentified man said to his shocked girlfriend, pulling out an engagement ring.
“I can't think of anybody else standing by my side slaying zombies and killing vampires and killing demons and whatever else is out there,” the guy who may have been dressed as a prince continued. “What I'm trying to ask you, Ashley Elizabeth Rhodes, will you marry me?"
Thankfully the lucky lady said “Yes!”
Star Jared Padalecki reportedly applauded the couple, but it’s unknown how exactly the 34-year-old’s TV brother Jensen Ackles reacted.

It’s possible Dean Winchester’s alter ego, 38, was so focused on the Rick Springfield news, he forgot to clap.
The “Jessie’s Girl” singer, 66, will play Lucifer’s new vessel, following the fallen angel’s disappearing act at the end of Season 11.
The Aussie musician’s character will be Vince Vicente, a “rock star who’s a little bit on the down side who’s trying to come back,” before he’s taken over by the devil.
It sounds like the description isn’t too upsetting for Rick, whose last single to peak on the Billboard Hot 100 chart was 1988’s “Rock of Life.”
The True Detective star filmed his first scene on Friday, July 22, and is doing an "amazing job," showrunner Bob Singer said.
October can’t get here fast enough!
