13 Stars Who Were on ‘Supernatural’ First: Ashley Benson, Cory Monteith & More

When Supernatural Season 12 debuts tonight, October 13, the long-running horror drama will become the longest-running show in CW and WB history.

With over a decade of fighting TV monsters under their belt, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have been host to countless recurring actors, guests stars, and extras on their Vancouver set since 2005.

It just so happens many of those special visitors went on to bigger and better things than “monster fatality” or “forgettable villain of the week."

Take a look at the gallery above to see the 13 extremely familiar faces for the 12 (minimum) years of Supernatural, plus one for good luck.

Supernatural — still — airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.

The beautiful blonde, 26, may be known as one of the prettiest liars on TV, but Ashley Benson was originally a centuries-old witch during Season 4’s Halloween episode. “A” might not be able to kill Ashley, but Samhain sure did.

Before the Walking Dead star, 34, was kicking zombie butt, Lauren Cohan was giving the Winchester brothers a hard time as Bela. If it wasn’t for her black market-friendly character, we’d never have the iconic Sammy line, “I lost... my shoe.”

The 26-year-old was just reportedly tapped for Hollywood's hottest role: young Han Solo. But long before the California hunk got his own Star Wars prequel, he was almost monster lunch in "Wendigo" as Ben Collins.

The Season 1 showing was Alden's first IMDb credit, ever — so hopefully Dean's roguish charms rubbed off on him. He's going to need them!

The late Glee star snagged his first appearance on primetime network TV with a gig in the same installment as Aldren, playing his older brother. Sadly, Cory Monteith didn't get to survive the cold open.

The Entire UnReal Cast

It seems like 95 percent of UnReal’s cast have shared the camera with Sam and Dean Winchester.

Madison the Intern, Shamiqua Who’s Too Good to Act Ghetto, Chett’s shady wife, Pepper the Baby Talker, and most of the Ever After contestants who never spoke were all guest stars at some point. The two series even share a stunt coordinator!

The only show to give UnReal a run for its money when it comes to J&J face-time is our friends in Storybrooke. The Big Bad Wolf, the Blue Fairy, Tinker Bell, Smee, and the beautiful Prince Eric all did their Supernatural time too.

In 2014, the CW had the bright idea of Supernatural: Bloodlines, a spinoff for the series. The Brit hunk starred in the backdoor pilot — his first American network appearance —  but fans found it as boring as the much-dissed Season 6.

What was the net’s loss was FOX’s gain, since it left the 24-year-old free to play Earl Grey in Scream Queens!

As a proud group of #TeamMichael supporters, we’re happy to know the Jane the Virgin cutie popped up on a far scarier CW show back in 2010, just before Supernatural’s 100th episode.

Speaking of CW stars, the Arrow superhero got her first Tumblr-friendly gig as Season 3’s original Ruby. Although she was replaced by future Mrs. Padalecki, Genevieve Cortese, in Season 4, we’ll always remember the blonde baddie.

The 20-year-old may have only popped up in two episodes of the genre hit as Krissy Chambers, a teen hunter, but both appearances really shone.

With all the hype around fan-suggested spin-off Wayward Daughters — focusing on the many women the Winchesters have met during their adventures — who knows what’s next for the Teen Wolf and Mad Men alum?

The fellow CW beauty can thank Supernatural for starting her career. The 30-year-old The 100 actress' first-ever on-screen moment was with the Winchesters in the flashback-heavy "After School Special."

All three hours of Shondaland Thursdays boast at least one alum. Dr. April Kepner on Grey’s Anatomy, both Mellie Grant and dearly-departed Jerry Grant Jr. of Scandal, and McKayla’s hottie ex Levi on HTGAWM have been along for the hellish ride.

We can’t finish this list without going to the very beginning. The badass Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. babe, 33, left her unforgettable mark on the series as Jessica, Sam Winchester’s girlfriend who dies in the pilot … and kicks off the entire show.

While we’re not huge fans of women in refrigerators, Adrianne deserves her props.
