Nashville Synopsis: Season 2, Episode 9 — “I’m Tired of Pretending”

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more dramatic on Nashville, things are heating up. While the last episode focused a lot on Scarlett (Clare Bowen) joining Luke (Will Chase) on tour and finding her way, we’re going to shift focus next week, December 4, to Rayna’s (Connie Britton) family drama and Juliette’s (Hayden Panettiere) tumultuous tour.

Season 2 has concerned itself with Rayna’s baby daddy troubles, with Deacon (Charles Esten) and Teddy (Eric Close) being pretty discreet about their disdain for each other — until now. Even in the promo, we saw the two dads getting into a pretty heated (and very public) argument about Maddie (Lennon Stella). Spoiler: Rayna isn’t going to be putting up with that mess.

And with Juliette on tour with newcomers Will (Chris Carmack) and Layla (Aubrey Peeples), she’s going to have to fight harder than ever to shine — and it sounds like Layla is ready to step out into the limelight and become the next rising star of country music!

Check out the synopsis below and tune in on December 4 for the dramatic episode!

“Maddie wants to spend more time with Deacon and Teddy begins to feel like he’s being replaced. Rayna is struggling to strike the right balance with the two dads and their fatherhood responsibilities. Meanwhile, Lamar makes a plea to Rayna to secure Tandy’s support as a character witness. Charlie has declared his love for Juliette but she couldn’t be more distracted by the fact that Layla’s career is stealing some of her spotlight. Zoey and Avery make plans to visit Scarlett on the road in an effort to boost her spirits, though that feeling may be short-lived.”

The next episode of Nashville airs Wednesday, December 4, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
