That’s right, the Gilmore Girls star actually had a big part in her longtime boyfriend and former co-star joining Shondaland’s newest series, as his new co-star Mireille Enos revealed to Wetpaint at SCAD’s aTVfest.

“I think he was really nervous about it because he has been like the perfect dad for a long time,” the Killing star says of the man formerly known as Adam Braverman.

She adds, “When he was offered this role, Lauren [Graham] said to him, ‘When are you going to get the chance to play James Bond? Don’t walk away from this.’ He’s totally stepped up to the plate.”

Mireille goes on to call Peter “totally hot” in the role of con man Benjamin Jones — though that’s apparently not his resting state.

“Both of us were like, ‘We have to get fit and put on our cute clothes!’” the 40-year-old says, laughing. “What’s fun about being partners with him on the show is we’re both kind of dorks in real life. We get to elevate together to that classy place.”

Speaking of, Mireille is excited to show a more “glamorous side” to herself after playing the grungy Detective Sarah Linden on The Killing for four seasons.

She gushes, “I do not walk through my life in heels everyday but it’s definitely an aspect to me. My husband is always saying to me, ‘I don’t know why you keep getting cast in these super serious roles because you’re a total banana.’”

Some of those funny moments will come out in this series, which has the trademark Shonda Rhimes brand of dramedy. Not that Mireille would know — she admits she hasn’t watched really any TV in five years!

“It’s completely fresh,” she says of the TGIT universe. “I have two kids. So I knew the titles and they were beloved, but I was not an audience member ... I’ve educated myself since!”

The Catch premieres Thursday, March 24 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
