The Most Romantic Moment Ever for Each Pretty Little Liars Ship
If you haven’t heard, it’s the end of a Pretty Little Liars era. And, even though the Liars’ ships are still going to be sailing on the other side of this five-year time jump, that doesn’t mean thing will be the same. With that in mind, we’re taking the time to pick out our most romantic moments ever for each big PLL ship. Because, what else are we supposed to do during the PLL hiatus?

Ezria — Aria Jumps Into Ezra’s Arms in the Rosewood High Parking Lot
Ezria has had so many epic moments over the years, but we’ll never forget the magic of this Season 2 moment. Ezra is leaving his job at Rosewood High. He gives his goodbye speech, which is pretty much specifically targeted to Aria. He even throws in a Joseph Campbell quote for good measure: “You must give up the life you had planned, in order to have the life that is waiting for you.”
Aria does her best to let him go, but cannot. She rushes to his classroom to say goodbye, to find it deserted. Then, she sees him through the window in the parking lot. Cue her dashing across the pavement for an epic parking lot kiss that will go down as one of the most romantic moments in PLL’s history.
Haleb — Caleb Tells Hanna she Is the Bravest Person He Knows
Like most of the couples on PLL, there are too many romantic Haleb moments to choose from. Caleb is pretty much the best boyfriend ever (except for that time he randomly went off to chase ghosts, and didn’t communicate with Hanna about it one bit, which we do not speak about). Though early-seasons Haleb was adorable and heartwarming and downright sexy, we kind of love the relationship these two have evolved into. It might not be as new, but Hanna and Caleb trust and respect one another so much.
In that vein, we’re choosing a recent Haleb moment as one of the most romantic of all time: the Season 6 moment when Caleb told Hanna just how strong he knew she was. “Have I ever told you that I think you're the bravest person I've ever met? … That's what people do. They mend. You taught me that. Sometimes, you end up stronger at the broken places.” And, sometimes, the most romantic moments come at the most depressing times. Hanna needed Caleb, post-breakup, and he was there for her.

Spoby — Spencer Runs Into Toby’s Arms at the Carnival
As amazing as every Spoby moment is, we’re partial to a classic one: that time Spencer, scared out of her wits after being terrorized in a carnival funhouse, runs into the comfort of Toby’s arms, despite her family’s disapproval. Early Spoby was all everyone thinking Toby was a teenaged murderer/hooligan/good for nothing scallywag, and Spencer knowing better. There were motel Scrabble games and tutoring sessions and chats about that time Toby was a runaway, but our absolute most romantic moment came in this defining Spoby embrace. This is the moment Spencer chose Toby over being the perfect Hastings daughter.
Paily — Emily Tells Paige She Makes Her Feel Found
Oh, Paily, how we miss thee! Though the relationship may have started off a bit bumpy (we just try to forget about that time Paige tried to drown Emily), there have been some seriously romantic moments ever since. Though we’re partial to all of Paily’s “Shadow Play” scenes, we’re going to have to go with something that happens outside of Spencer’s drug-addled hallucinations. Our pick for Paily’s most romantic moment comes in Season 3 when Emily shows up at the Rosewood High pool to chat to Paige about the night she was drugged. She tells Paige: “I was drunk that night, and I got lost. I was looking for something. I was looking for somebody, and I came here.” In a world that is so unsafe for the Liars, finding someone who makes them feel found is worth everything.
Emison — Emily and Alison Make Out in Em’s bed
You didn’t think we’d forget about Emison, did you? Though this ship might not have had as much screen time, there have been some epic moments in its development. Though we do love the Emison flashback conversation that has these two dreaming of running away together to France, we’re going to have to go with a more recent, honest, intimate moment. We’re talking, of course, about the bedtime makeout scene between these two gals. Sure, it might not have worked out later in the ep, but — in this moment, in that bed — it was just Emily and Alison wanting to be together. Who knows if these two will ever be on the same page romantically again (after all, Ali is married after the time jump), but, if not, they will always have this moment.
