Andrew Lincoln Talks ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Finale Cliffhanger

Fans were understandably pissed off with the The Walking Dead’s Season 6 finale that ended in the most heartbreaking cliffhanger.

But Andrew Lincoln has been loving the hate and even commented he enjoys how hotly debated the final scene has been.

“Obviously we don’t want a divided reaction every time we do something as a season finale because then we’d start to be concerned,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“We love the fans. I love the fact that everybody is so engaged with it and so opinionated about it. I think it’s a great energy that we feed off.”

What sparked even more controversy with fans was the outcome from the comic books, and whether or not The Walking Dead producers would follow the same storyline.

“At the heart of it is the fact that we dance this tightrope where we have this beautiful environment originated by Robert Kirkman.

“And then, we’re trying to do our own thing amongst it, but of course there are bits that we honor.”

In the comic books it is Glenn, played by Steven Yuen, who meets his untimely death from Negan’s bat Lucille.

But while it is rumored the producers will “honor” that same storyline, they have also hinted there will be more than one death during the Season 7 premiere.

I know everybody’s excited. I know there is a very vocal, a very opinionated, fervent fan base that know the comics and can’t wait to get to certain characters and places.

“But we’re doing a different thing.”

Of course that doesn’t stop fans from harassing the actor about who will die in the upcoming season!

“Every time I leave my house. Every time I go through customs.

“Every time they are checking my belt going through the security, everybody’s going, ‘Please tell me. Just tell me. Just whisper, who is it? Is it you?’”

Hey, we would do the same thing if we saw Andrew in the airport. Wouldn’t you?
