‘The Walking Dead’ Producer Teases New Info About Season 7

If you’re as obsessed with The Walking Dead as we are, then October seems like it’s light years away.

But executive producer Greg Nicotero, who directed both the Season 6 finale and the Season 7 premiere, has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly we will finally get some answers.

“Yes, who was at the receiving end of Negan’s bat will be revealed in the first episode.”

Greg also teased that Negan, played by the handsome Jeffrey Dean Morgan, has plenty more rants to come in Season 7. We’re still reeling from his last speech with good ol’ Lucille.

“Negan is that kind of guy,” said the producer. “He’s the kind of guy who imagines himself on stage at a high school production and he loves every second of it.

“So, I don’t really see a lot of quiet contemplative moments with Negan. I feel like with Negan it’s really going to be about him gesticulating and him sort of relishing in the sound of his own voice while he commands the stage in front of whoever’s alive.”

From what we’ve seen thus far from Negan, he’s definitely a talker. The epic Season 6 finale ended with the villain getting ready to use his spiked baseball bat on one of our favorite characters.

In The Walking Dead comics, it's Glenn, played by Steven Yeun, who is first killed by Negan. But that doesn’t mean the writers of the show are going to stick to the books…

In fact, The Hollywood Reporter revealed they shot 11 different death scenes to avoid any spoilers, so Negan’s victim could really be anyone at this point.

We’ll keep you updated on more spoilers until the season premiere in October.

The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere in the fall on AMC.
