Tyrese Calls Chris Rock’s Jada Pinkett-Smith Joke “Tasteless”
Comedian Chris Rock’s hosting duties at the Oscars 2016 had mixed reviews: while many applauded the actor for tackling the diversity issue head on, many thought his jokes went too far – and one of those people happen to be actor Tyrese Gibson.
The Top 5 actor, however, wouldn’t give up his job and during his opening monologue, he cracked a joke or two about Jada, saying, “Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna's panties — I wasn't invited!”
While the quip got laughs from some, it didn’t sit too well with Ty, who posted a video on Instagram expressing his disgust.

“After Chris done f—ked my night up talking about my girl Jada, who took the initiative to stand up and make a difference, I’m smiling again because of Leo. Leo won!” he yelled.
In the caption accompanying the vid, the 37-year-old single dad wrote, “I didn’t watch. I didn’t, but online people are talking and someone posted the tasteless joke that Chris did in his opening.”
“Did you really use your stage to tear down and diminish one of the strongest most fearless black women in this town as the world watched?” he said, continuing to say “shame on you Chris.”
At least Leonardo DiCaprio’s long-awaited Best Actor win was able to cheer Ty up!
