Ian Somerhalder Recalls the Hardest ‘Vampire Diaries’ Scenes He’s Ever Done
The 37-year-old recently opened up about which moments of the supernatural drama were the hardest for him, reaching back to Season 2 and even picking one from Season 7.
"Episode 14 of Season 2,” he immediately calls out in an Entertainment Weekly blog post, describing a scene that, upon a quick check, we find out actually comes from Episode 12 of Season 2.
The Louisiana native goes on to recount a “cathartic” scene in which a “distraught” Damon Salvatore, who is lying in the middle of the road drinking from a flask, meets a woman named Jessica whom he compels, emotionally unloads upon, then kills.
But that’s not the only scene that comes to the former Lost actor’s mind.
“A very close second was the scene at the end of Episode 10 of this season when Damon tells his mom that he loves her and that he’s sorry in the battle!” Ian writes. “Wow, two great scenes…”
We’re sure it was tough for the CW star to pick these momentous moments from the show’s history — there are a million more to choose from — but we’re glad vintage Damon got a shoutout and one of Mama Salvatore got some love, too!
The Vampire Diaries Season 7 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
