“Evil Dead” Screening – 2013 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival

Elizabeth Blackmore as Valerie

Variety reports Legend of the Seeker alum Elizabeth Blackmore has been cast as Valerie, one of Lily Salvatore’s (Annie Wersching) heretic family members. In addition to her strong magic, Valerie also has a dark, moody attitude. She doesn’t fit into the Mystic Falls way of life and doesn’t agree with Lily’s peaceful ways, so she’ll take matters into her own hand and will “start a dangerous chain of events that will change Mystic Falls.” Valerie will first turn up in the Season 7 premiere.

According to Variety, Scarlett Byrne has been cast as Nora, one-half of the show’s first same-sex couple. Nora is part of Lily’s heretic family. Fed up with day-to-day life, she lives for chaos and destruction. She’s described as an adorable tomboy with a sly sense of humor and hella strong magic. Scarlett previously starred on Falling Skies. Nora will debut in the Season 7 premiere.

Oscar is described as “a laid back stoner who’s been living the high life off the grid for months, hiding a surprising connecting to the Salvatores.” His “Zen lifestyle” will cease when, thanks to something supernatural, he becomes a “feral killer.” Oscar makes his first appearance in Season 7, Episode 3.

According to The Wrap, Todd Lasance has been cast as Julian, “a feared, storied immortal with a reputation for excelling in earthly pleasures.” He is either “pure charisma or pure creep” — dependant on whom you ask — and only fears one thing: “anonymity.” You’ll recognize Todd from Australian soap opera Far and Away or Spartacus: War of the Damned. Julian will first appear in Season 7, Episode 3.
