‘TWD’/‘FTWD’ Crossover “Possible,” But “Crazy” Says Robert Kirkman
Apparently people are still interested in the idea of a Walking Dead crossover with Fear the Walking Dead, as creator Robert Kirkman was once again asked about the possibility of that taking place.
The comic book creator clarified his stance on a crossover at Hawaii Comic Con earlier this week.
“They're definitely not in the same timeline just because Fear the Walking Dead starts while Rick Grimes is in a coma,” he told the audience (via Comicbook.com.) “So, Fear the Walking Dead Season 1, to a certain extent, happens inside of Season 1 of The Walking Dead.

“We're already on Season 7 and this one's on Season 2 and that would be crazy,” the executive producer added. “As far as if those characters will ever encounter each other, I mean, they're in the same universe so it's completely possible.”
“Crazy,” but “possible?” We’ll take it!
Still, Robert also brought up one small obstacle that could very well prevent a crossover from ever taking place.

“Geographically, they're nowhere near each other so it would be somewhat farfetched if group A were to somehow encounter group B, unless over the course of many, many, many, many seasons somehow it made sense,” he explained.
We wouldn’t be opposed to a crossover per se, but we’re also not hankering for one to happen. Your choice, Robert!
The Walking Dead Season 7 will premiere in the fall on AMC. Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 will return on August 21 at 9 p.m. ET.
