‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Finale: Everything We Know

Next Sunday, April 3, brings us The Walking Dead Season 6 finale, meaning we won’t get new TWD again until Season 7 premieres in October.

We know a good deal about about Episode 16 — AKA Negan’s long-awaited debut — but not all of our intel has been confirmed yet, so we can’t guarantee some of the following info won’t change.

EXCLUSIVE: TWD Cast on Negan, Season Finale & More

Unlike weeks past, we actually have an (unconfirmed) title and synopsis for Episode 16 which, at the very least, give us a rough idea of what we can expect.

The hour is apparently called “Last Day on Earth” and the synopsis is as follows:

“In the aftermath of a tragic blow, Eugene falls captured by Dwight, a member of the Saviors, whom are hell bent on getting even with Alexandria, Negan teaches Rick and co. a brutal lesson, which shows that Rick and co. finally have something to fear.”

That Eugene bit already happened, so we’re betting that part will change.

We also have our first look at Negan thanks to an international promo, and he’s just as terrifying as we expected him to be.

Based on what we’ve heard, the 90-minute installment ends with many members of our group — Rick GrimesCarl GrimesGlenn RheeDaryl DixonMichonneMaggie GreeneAbraham Ford, Eugene and Aaron — captured by various Saviors and completely at Negan’s mercy.

The iconic character has trouble deciding which person to kill so he begins his game of “Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe.” Every one of our captured characters’ faces are shown during the count, but when Negan finally chooses, the camera view switches to the ill-fated character’s point of view.

In other words, we’re likely in for one hell of a cliffhanger.

Speaking about his reaction to reading the finale scriptTWD actor Andrew Lincoln said “I felt sick to my stomach when I read the script. It was the first day in the whole six years of working on The Walking Dead that I was late for work because I woke up in the middle of the night and I couldn’t get back to sleep.”

Co-star Lauren Cohan added, “[Hearing] the word ‘finale’ gives me a physical reaction because it’s the hardest day on set that I’ve ever had in my life. I never even imagined that as an actor you could have that experience. It’s one of the most raw experiences that I think any of us have ever had.”

In the comics, Negan of course kills Glenn, but all signs point to a remix of that well-known storyline. Looks like we’ll just have to wait and see where the bat breaks!

The Walking Dead Season 6 airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
