‘Walking Dead’ Season 6 Will Have New Comic Book Locations, More Walkers Than Ever (VIDEO)

A new promo and even more intel for The Walking Dead Season 6? Don’t mind if we do!

We’re roughly six weeks away from the TWD Season 6 premiere, and apparently that calls for a new crop of info of what’s headed our way once the season kicks off on October 11.

First up is a new promo. While this one-minute clip doesn’t actually contain any footage from the upcoming season, it does show some of our favorite TWD characters — think Norman ReedusDaryl Dixon, Maggie Greene, played by Lauren Cohan, and Glenn Rhee, aka Steven Yeun among others — looking particularly badass.

The Phantoms’ “We Carry On” was a pretty inspired song choice for the promo as well. The lyrics — which include “Hold fast to one another, we will stand stranger to brother” — certainly allude to the uphill battle ahead for our survivors as they rid Alexandria of walkers and attempt to deal with both internal and external threats in their continued fight to stay alive.

In a Q&A with AMCtv.com, TWD executive producer Tom Luse calls Season 6 “ambitious,” adding, “We have scenes with amazingly huge numbers of zombies, we have new locations, and we have very ambitious stunts and effects that are challenging all of our departments.”

The veteran EP even expanded on that “new locations” tease, saying, “There are several locations this season that fans will recognize from the comic, but I can’t tell you because my head will be cut off.”

One of the new locales we’re expecting to see this season is the Hilltop Colony, a large farming community not far from the Alexandria Safe Zone where Rick and the others meet Jesus.

Consider us beyond psyched for Season 6!

The Walking Dead Season 6 premieres with a 90-minute episode on October 11 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
